About Max

Max is a 5 year old,  docked, liver & white boy, he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

He is housetrained and has basic training, he knows the commands  sit, lie, bed, stay, wait, come, heel. He is not whistle trained but his recall is good unless actively chasing something or playing with another dog. He does not pull on the lead but his heels not great.

He is not used to children and stays out of the way of them he is not interested in interacting with them, so a home without children or older children would be best.

Although Max is currently an only dog heloves playing with other dogs and is very friendly, he would probably suit a home with another dog for company. He currently lives with cats although he does try to play with them occasionally but usually cohabits happily with them.

He is familiar with most livestock and has no instinct to chase or bother large animals (frequently stayed on dairy farm with horses). Has a habit of running round the chicken pen for hours at a time! He does chase birds, i.e. pheasants.

He travels well in the car on both long and short journeys.

He loes to run on the beach, playing with other dogs & snuggle up under a blanket.

Dislikes being left alone, squirrels and strangers.

Max really struggles with being left alone at home for any length of time, he becomes extremely distressed and will bark and then howl for the entire time he is left (without a break). He will also often try and get out including scratching at the kitchen door.  Max needs a home where he will not be left for very long at all or maybe has another dog for company, which may help his SA. His owners have made many changes to the environment to try and make it a max friendly space however none of this has made any real positive difference and Max is very unhappy when left alone. He needs a home where he is rarely left and receives more mental and physical stimulation.
